What is Kubernetes ?

<p>Kubernetes, often abbreviated to K8s, is an open-source container orchestration platform designed to simplify and automate the deployment, scaling and management of containerized applications. Created by Google and now maintained by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Kubernetes offers a flexible, extensible framework for managing complex container environments. It enables containers to be grouped into clusters for centralized management, offering robust tools for automating operational tasks such as deployment, dynamic application scaling, update management, load distribution and fault recovery.</p> <p>Kubernetes uses a master-slave architecture for cluster management. The master component coordinates and monitors the slave nodes where the containers run. It offers a unified view of cluster state, allowing users to declare the desired state of the infrastructure and let Kubernetes manage the orchestration to achieve that state.</p>
